Daytona Beach Shores – Located on a barrier island on the Atlantic Ocean, Daytona Beach Shores is only 5.5 miles long and just a few yards wide.  Its pristine beach is the backdrop for many high rise condominiums, single family homes, townhouses, hotels and motels.   The casual beachside lifestyle afforded by condo living, beckons large numbers of seasonal residents whose numbers swell in the winter months to over 30,000 and wane in the spring and summer. Known for many years for auto racing on its hard packed sand, Daytona Beach Shores shares the history of Sir Malcolm Campbell’s 1935 land speed record which was set right on these area beaches.  Of interest, is a racing walk of fame with memorial bricks for drivers, mechanics and others associated with racing, which was developed by the Living Legends of Auto Racing and the Daytona Beach Shores Chamber of Commerce.

Daytona Beach Shores Employment – Residents of Daytona Beach Shores find employment in Daytona Beach and surrounding areas.  Since Daytona Beach Shores is mostly comprised of high rise condominiums with seasonal residents, there is little commercial work.  The major industry is tourism. Hotels, restaurants and other hospitality-based businesses are major employers.  The area’s largest employers are Halifax Health, The Volusia County School District, Florida Hospital Ormond Memorial, NASCAR, Daytona International Speedway, and the various colleges and universities – Daytona State College, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Bethune Cookman College, Stetson University, and The University of Central Florida.   Manufacturing concerns in Daytona Beach, as well as tourist-oriented businesses provide employment.

Daytona Beach Shores Schools – Daytona Beach Shores Elementary Schools are part of the Volusia County School District.  There is no high school in the city limits.  Information on schools can be obtained at the Volusia County School District website. Spruce Creek High School (in Port Orange), which offers an International Baccalaureate program, is the closest high school.  Atlantic High School is also available. School ratings may be found on the School District website. There are a number of parochial schools and Father Lopez Catholic High School in the nearby Daytona Beach area.

Daytona Beach Shores Condominiums  - Attractive high rise condominiums grace the water’s edge along the sparkling Atlantic Ocean.  The Oceans condominiums, Oceans One,  Oceans Two, Oceans Three, Oceans Four, Oceans Five, Oceans Six,  Oceans Seven,  Oceans Eight, and Oceans Ten,  as well as The Oceans Cloverleaf, Oceans Grand  and Oceans West provide a wide range of living options.  Newer condominiums include  St. Kitt’s,  St. Croix,  St. Maarten, Ocean Villas,  and the DiMucci Twin Towers.  These units range in prices from affordable weekend getaway places, to luxury penthouses and sky homes.

Daytona Beach Shores Homes – Daytona Beach Shores homes provide a wide array of lifestyles, from casual Bohemian to Luxury Homes on the river or the ocean.  Estate lot homes on the oceanfront provide privacy and magnificent sunrises.  Daytona Beach Shores Luxury Homes - Riverfont homes have a nautical flavor with back yard docks and access to the Intracoastal Waterway, only minutes away from the Ponce De Leon Inlet and Atlantic Ocean.
